I know I don't have the money now but when I do I want to get my puppy lacoste collar and burberry accesories. Do they make designer dog kennels? I would love for him to have anything from any of these designers: burberry, gucci, lacoste, coach, chanel, versace...or anything like those! Where can I find these things?
He is a brittany spaniel and before you say anything I am not treating my dog as an accessory...I would just like him to have collars, beds, bandana, the usual things, no clothes please
Um yes he is thank you and it's not dumb...if I can buy it why not...hes completely taken care of and is extremely healthy...just spoiled a little...you didn't answer my question so next time just dont even bother...

I have 2 spoiled dogs, I really want to get them each their own Coach leash and collar, the only thing is, the leash is and the collar is also AND I have 2 dogs (well 5 in total but these 2 are mine) so then I would be spending 0.50 (including s&h) Should I spend all this money on my dogs?

I just heard an argument from a DD lover.
"Breeds didn't just appear. They were bred over hundreds of years to be what they are today. They were all mutts once, but they were bred for a purpose. Its the same way with Designer dogs. Just because they aren't a breed you accept doesn't make them mutts."
She basically said that designer dogs were created for a purpose. Do any designer breeders out there do it for anything OTHER than money? If so, I'm waiting. What purpose do you have?

I have seen these dogs sell for a lot of money and I always thought people would not buy a dog unless it was AKC. I have seen quite a few designer dogs, but I can't understand the high prices for them. please enlighten me. Thanks

Why the heck would someone pay for a mix breed dog! That is what designer dogs are!! MIX BREED MUTTS!! I just do not get it!! I can adopt a great mix breed dog from the pound. Can someone give me any reason why this is being done and why people are paying money for them!! How about places I can go to see pictures of these so called designer dogs!! When I starting hearing about this I thought it was a joke!! ha ha
So far I agree totally with you both!!
Man I looked at some of those and holly cow they are ugly!!!! I have seen better looking dogs at the pound! I will say somewhere cute but some where down right scary!!!! Sorry but they are all MUTTS! I would rather goto the pound and get a good mix breed from there and give it a home rather then pay money to a backyard breeder for a Mutt that cost more then a Purebred!!
Oh and by the way I own a great shepard mix that was adopted from the pound and also a prue bred akita.

Who breeds designer dogs? Do you make more money than with the other types? I know they are popular?
And to do it, do you get two purebreds or do you start with a designer pair and breed them? Like if I want a maltipoo do I start with a maltese and a poodle? Or do I start with two maltipoos? How much can you sell them for?
Thankyou?
You are mean and rude. No wonder everyone says this place is mean.

Everyone has a certain breed of dog that they love. Mine is the Berner. When I see so called "breeders" mixing them with GSD's,. Border Collies, Golden Retrievers, Poodles, Mastiffs etc It REALLY bothers me!! These 'breeders' come up with some kind of 'reason' as to why the 'designer' dogs are better then the original breed. They think that mixing 2 breeds, charging $$$$ is IMPROVING what already is...
Just like any breed of dog, Berners are known for their striking appearance. Why mess with it???? What are they doing mixing all these other breeds into it? What is the point, other then money, creating 'something' new..
What do you see happening with your breed of choice?
Sorry, just had to vent.
Punk
Sorry, Yes, I am talking about a Bernese Mtn dog....
I seen this breeder that bred Huskies and Berners. Had a litter of Berners she was selling as purebred with AKC papers, but you could tell they had Husky mixed in with them.
Its a shame for people that don't do their homework, spend ,500 for a 'purebred' that is really a mutt and the worst thing is, I have seen these dogs on Petfinder up for adoption..
Shadow...
email me and I will show you the website. Yep, a Berner/BC cross called a Bordernese. Like you said why mess with perfection in either breed

Whoever thought it was a good idea to breed a pug w/ a beagle, a golden retriever with a POODLE, a lab with a poodle, and so on is a moron. those breeds should have never been mixed. Oh and also- there is no such thing as a "purebred" goldendoodle, etc.
Ok-- that's what I meant-- the stupid people breeding them for the money.. etc.

I know that this has been on here before, but I have to raise the question again to see some different answers. It's not that I'm against cross-breeding, etc. - I've owned both shelter dogs/mixes and pedigrees, and I think that either can be the best companions. I feel that genetically engineered dogs with "designer" names are a scam to get more money for "mutts." I have a Pit Bull/Schnauzer mix... could I breed her with another and call her a Schnitt Bull, or perhaps a Bull Schnitt, and push for the AKC to register the breed to make money?
No flames please... just my opinion. How do you all feel about it?
Just to clarify - my pup has been spayed since she was 9 weeks old - I couldn't leave the shelter with her unless she was (or it would have been done, just not so early). I, by no means, am intending to breed her as a "designer dog" - it was just a sarcastic example.
And with my saying that I'm not against cross-breeding - I just mean that I'm not a pedigree snob... I'm a "dog-lover" and to me that means that I'll love a mutt and a pedigree all the same!

Just received a Christmas puppy. She's six weeks old but will probably grow to be about 40 pounds. I'd rather go with a harness instead of a collar, but I'm afraid she'll outgrow it so fast it won't be worth the money. Does anyone know where I can get a good adjustable harness that will grow with her?
